Re: Mine dont

99 Dyna.....71,000 trouble free miles and going strong....have done all my own work too...and I'm not even that great of a mechanic

Editor: Just to clarify, you are saying that you have 71k with absolutely no mechanical failures or any kind of work needed outside of routine maintenance and enhancements?

One of my battery cables got loose once....it took me a few minutes to figure out why it wouldn't start......... other than that......oil, plugs, tires etc.......still goin strong...........the days of the leaky, unreliable harley are in the distant past

How to buy a Harley and be happy

Do not buy a brand new bike at the dealers. Example,
an Electra glide Classic will cost you over $25,000.00 out the door. You will have to spend $3000.00
on after market parts to get it to breathe right.

On Craigslist, its easy to find THAT or any low mile bike for 1/2 that cost or less and its already ( probably) been modified.

So, grab yourself a model with 5-10,000 miles on it, a couple years old and buy the shop manual for the bike also.

Do all the work yourself that you can. Its part of the ride.

You will enjoy that bike for YEARS

thanks
