Harley - 2006 Ultra Classic
I'm sorry, am I missing something? I bought my machine new in August of 2005 and the only two issues I have had were an antenna fell off which they replaced under warrantee with one having a spring built in, and the wrong angle fuel injector jets installed at the factory (caused sputter at 2000 rpms)... also replaced under warrantee. I now have over 18,000 miles on the bike and have just changed out the rear tire. I change the oil, check the tire pressure and ride. It really sounds as though I am in the minority. I went with the Harley for its simplicity rather than the Honda where there are simply so many gadgets that I assumed something was bound to go wrong.

Happy for you!
Your lucky to have been the original owner and received the warranty work. What if you were the second owner without a warranty and a sputtering stalling bike? Also have 2006 U.C., it only had 1.5K miles in 2009 when I purchased. Guessing previous owner never rode it due the stalling issue. I adapted with heavy use of the clutch and throttle. When I presented issue to dealership, they first ignored so I did some digging and found the covert Service Bulletin (M-1185). Short story even shorter, the bulletin was not a recall so matter how serious the issue you are on your own. My once high opinion of HD is definitely tarnished. Seems to me, safety falls a distant second to profits.
