Re: 09 piece of crap

I still haven't found the gear noise in my 2006 Electraglide. I just received my Nov issue of RIDER magazine. In the Tech Q & A there are two complaints about HD's, one is a 2009 Ultra Classic. No support from the dealer or the Mfg. I'm beginning to have serious doubts about owning another one. For those that have had good luck with their HD's, I say good for you.

Re: My Harley issues

The status of my 2006 electraglide and my wife's 2003 Dyna lowrider are unchanged. Both bikes still make a metal grinding noise like a coffee grinder. Three HD Master Mechanics tell me this noise is normal. I refuse to believe it. I do believe that original workmanship and quality control from the factory may be a factor. My hunch is they made a lousy transmission - unfortunately I refuse to pay the 2K to replace it. I also emailed the gentleman from Moreno Valley Choppers who asked me to think outside the box. It's possible something is loose on the bike.

HARLEY EXPERIENCE 2006 Electraglide Standard

I own a 2006 Electraglide Standard with 22K on the odometer. I've had a persistant engine noise from the right side like a coffee grinder grinding coffee. Both dealers in my area have not expressed enough interest in trying to find the problem. Coincidentally my wife's 2003 Dyna (15K miles) makes the same noise. I think it's timing chain or tensioners, or bearings or bearings in the trans. The noise drives me nuts. I found an independent mechanic willing to take a closer look. Dealer skill level has been disappointing and over expensive.
